# Slop Meeter

> Slop Meeter is a deterministic repository assessment tool that scores observable evidence, not AI authorship, aesthetics, or intent.

Slop Meeter inspects repository history, tests and CI, claims and their receipts, documentation and releases, dependencies and security, and optional online maintenance signals. Target repositories are treated as untrusted input and are never executed.

## Agent templates

Run `slopmeter init .` for the recommended `AGENTS.md` and GitHub Actions setup. Use `slopmeter init . --all` to add the audit prompt and Codex hook, or select individual components with repeated `--component` flags. The command previews safely with `--dry-run` and never replaces conflicting files unless `--force` is explicit.

## Important interpretation

- The evidence score and confidence must be read together.
- `na` means a check was unavailable or not applicable; it is not a failure.
- Young repositories receive a maturity note because they cannot yet provide deep historical evidence.
- Findings are explainable review prompts, not proof of fraud or low-quality authorship.
